Official Charity Response

ACT received a clean 2016 audit with no going concern for the fifth consecutive year. We continue to make steady progress toward sustainability and have seen significant improvement in our cash position and reduction of debt. Not taking into account the unrealized losses in the 2015 ACT Foundation investments, the change in unrestricted net assets was $300,000 better than 2014. As part of the Downtown Historic Theatre District, a city of Seattle partnership with four other venues operating national landmark buildings, ACT has benefited from the sale of Transfer Development Rights. In 2016 ACT’s net revenue from TDR sales was $584,239. These funds are managed by the board finance committee per its Funds Use Policy to pay down debt, make improvements on the facility, and helped ACT end FY16 with a net surplus. We received another $458,391 from a TDR sale in 2017 and retired a loan of $450,000 this year as well, all steps toward our greater fiscal health.
