Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) has been serving people and pets for over 85 years. Having facilitated more than half a million animal adoptions into permanent, loving homes, HSSV is leading the charge for animal welfare through their creative marketing techniques, community education programs and effective homeless animal prevention strategies.

HSSV has made a commitment to become America's first shelter to meet the standard-of-care guidelines put forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians-a goal they anticipate reaching in 2017. They also opened the country's first Animal Community Center in 2009-a place where people can come together to learn about, engage with and celebrate animals.

Humane Society Silicon Valley also launched the Mutual Rescue initiative in early 2016. Mutual Rescue is an inspiring new national effort highlighting the life-changing power of human-animal relationships through an ongoing series of short films.
