In accordance with our policy for removing CN Advisories, Charity Navigator removed the Moderate Concern CN Advisory for The Ireland Funds America on December 21, 2018, because the issues that prompted the CN Advisory have been resolved. Specifically:
  • The organization's FYE 2017 990 reflects the material diversion of assets.

  • On October 5, 2018, The Irish Times reported that The Ireland Funds America was, or may continue to be, a subject of a material diversion of assets in an article titled, "American Ireland Funds sues ex-employee for embezzlement." For this reason, we have issued a Moderate Concern CN Advisory as the allegations have yet to be confirmed. For more information regarding this matter, please see The Irish Times article.

    • On October 15, 2018, The Irish Times published an article titled, "Former American Ireland Fund employee denies $330,000 theft allegations." For more information, please see The Irish Times article.
