To accelerate breakthroughs, the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation provides today's best young scientists with funding to pursue innovative cancer research. We support emerging leaders who have great potential to achieve breakthroughs in how we diagnose, treat and prevent cancer. Our goals are to: Identify the best and brightest early career scientists in cancer research; Accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into new diagnostic tools and treatments; Enable risk taking on bold new ideas. Since 1946, the Foundation has invested over $250 million in more than 3,350 of the best and brightest scientists in the nation.
