In accordance with our policy for removing CN Advisories, Charity Navigator removed the Moderate Concern CN Advisory for the Catholic Charities Diocese of Cleveland on March 1, 2021, because the CN Advisory has been in place for more than a year (since February 1, 2019).

Charity Navigator had published a Moderate Concern CN Advisory on Catholic Charities Diocese of Cleveland because we became aware of the following information in connection with this charity:

  • On January 15, 2019, News 5 Cleveland reported on the charges of improper conduct allegedly taking place at Catholic Charities Diocese of Cleveland in an article titled, "Catholic Charities accused of negligence in death of abused boy." For this reason, we have issued a Moderate Concern CN Advisory as the allegations have yet to be confirmed. For more information regarding this matter, please see the News 5 Cleveland article.
