Charity Response

A Statement from Alley Cat Allies:

Nearly 30 years ago, our founder took a shortcut down an alleyway in Washington, D.C. in which she saw community cats coexisting with residents. This inspired her, leading to her vision which launched a global movement to protect and improve the lives of cats. Since then, we have worked tirelessly helping hundreds of thousands of individuals, communities and organizations save and improve the lives of millions of cats and kittens worldwide, while earning top ratings from charity evaluator groups.

Thanks to our incredible supporters, we are a global engine of change for cats. We create innovative, cutting-edge programs and are seen as a champion for the humane treatment of all cats. We work toward a world where every cat is valued and protected, and every community and shelter saves cats lives. This isn’t just something we talk about, we’re on the front lines. In November, when wildfires struck California, our president strapped on a breathing mask to bring emergency funding, lifesaving supplies, and critical expertise to help save animals in hard-hit areas, and when the next disaster strikes, we’ll be there again.

We do not know why a reporter has chosen to attack us with an article based on false, disparaging claims and baseless rumors, but we can promise you that it will not stop our mission.

There are cats who need our help and lifesaving work to be done. We remain focused on our mission to save cats lives.
