The mission of The Old Globe is to preserve, strengthen, and advance American theatre by creating theatrical experiences of the highest professional standards; producing and presenting works of exceptional merit designed to reach current and future audiences; ensuring diversity and balance in programming; and providing an environment for the growth and education of theatre professionals, audiences, and the community at large.

San Diego's flagship arts institution for over 80 years, the Tony Award-winning Old Globe is one of the country's leading professional regional theatres. The Old Globe produces a year-round season of 15 productions of classic, contemporary, and new works. Numerous world premieres developed at the Globe have enjoyed highly successful runs on Broadway and at other theatres, including 2014 Tony Award winner A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, BRIGHT STAR, ALLEGIANCE, THE FULL MONTY, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, and DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS!
