Founded in 1939, Boys Ranch, founded by Cal Farley, is one of America's largest privately-funded childcare providers specializing in residential services in a Christ-centered environment at no cost to the families of children in our care. Our historic residential campus offers 24-hour supervision in a small community setting. The educational and cutting-edge therapeutic programs provide the children we serve academic, vocational and therapeutic opportunities.

  • Cal Farley's provided Charity Navigator with information pertaining to updated policies and procedures since the events cited in the Advisory occurred.

Charity Navigator had published a Low Concern CN Advisory on Cal Farley's because we became aware of the following information in connection with this charity:

  • On December 20, 2017, The Guardian investigated the operations of Cal Farley's, in an article titled, "The Texas boys were beaten, abused, raped. Now all they want is an apology." For this reason, we have issued a Low Concern CN Advisory. For more information regarding the investigation, please see The Guardian article.

    • On December 20, 2017, The Amarillo Globe-News published an article titled, "Boys Ranch acknowledges, apologizes for decades of physical, sexual abuse from ’50s to ’90s." For more information, please see The Amarillo Globe-News article.
