Historical CN Advisories

06/03/2020-12/31/2020: Moderate Concern Advisory

In accordance with our policy for removing CN Advisories, Charity Navigator removed the Moderate Concern CN Advisory for the Goodwill of Southern Nevada on December 31, 2020, because the issues that prompted the CN Advisory have been resolved. Specifically:

  • The organization's FYE 2019 Audit no longer reports a going concern.

Charity Navigator had published a Moderate Concern CN Advisory on Goodwill of Southern Nevada because we became aware of the following information in connection with this charity:

  • Goodwill of Southern Nevada’s 12/2018 audit states that Goodwill of Southern Nevada has an “Emphasis of Matter Regarding Going Concern” that is outlined in Note 11. It reads, “The accompanying financial statements have been prepared assuming that the Organization will continue as a going concern. As discussed in Note 11 to the financial statements, the Organization has a net asset deficiency at year end, is not in compliance with its bond covenants, 1 is delinquent on its bond payments, and has filed for relief under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code. Management’s evaluation of the events and conditions and management’s plans to mitigate these matters are also described in Note 11. Our opinion is not modified with respect to this matter..” For this reason, we have issued this Moderate Concern CN Advisory. For more information, please see the FYE 2018 Audit.
