In 1989, HomeAid Orange County was founded by the Orange County chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California. With the goal of ending homelessness by leveraging the trades within the Building Industry Association, HomeAid Orange County acts as a developer of both housing options for non-profits who provide services (case management, job skills training, etc.) to those experiencing homelessness. Each HomeAid Orange County development project saves the recipient non-profit 30% of market rate cost or more. The only organization of its' kind, HomeAid Orange County is the non-profit for other non-profits. By developing housing options for other non-profits that provide services to those who are homeless, HomeAid Orange County is doing one of a kind work.
