    Founded in 1910 and inspired by the dream of self-reliance and principled success, the Boy Scouts of America has become an integral part of America’s character. No other youth-serving organization matches Scouting’s history of providing a richly diverse panorama of high-quality, value-based programs, regardless of social, economic, or ethnic background. The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to serve others by helping to instill values in young people to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The goal is to build character in youth and to work in close partnership with community organizations as they sponsor and develop local Scouting Programs.
