Vision

We envision a world where we put ourselves out of business. Our goal is self-sufficiency on the Navajo, Hopi and Zuni Nations. We want to create a part of the world where people have enough food to eat, proper health care throughout life, appropriate pre-school to high school education, opportunities for continuing education and the ability to make a living wage.

Goals

1. 1.We plan to continue to grow our nursing programs. We will be restarting the student nurse visitation program that was halted due to COVID. We bring 8-10 UNM-Gallup nursing students for clinical time at top hospitals in Central Bucks County. We are also monitoring the cost of supplies and clinicals so we can increase the amount of scholarships when the current level is no longer sufficient.
2. 2.Teachers at the schools we work with told us some of the children were having accidents in class. Because most traditional houses don’t have indoor bathrooms, the children had problems with potty training. The solution was potty chairs sent to the families who needed them. This raised the children's self-esteem and solved the problem of teachers having to clean up students during class.
3. 3.We had budget to supply self-contained, in-house water filters to homes without running water. We bought several and they were working well, but then the company supplying the water filters went out of business. We contacted the donors to ask if we could reallocate their money and put the water filter project on hold for now, then enlisted a water specialist to help us figure out next steps.
