Mission
Mission Statement The Corporation is incorporated under the Nonprofit Corporation Law of 1988 for the following purposes: 1. The Corporation is a nonprofit corporation organized solely for education and charitable purposes pursuant to the Pennsylvania Nonprofit Corporation Law of 1988. The Corporation is not organized for the private benefit of any person. The specific and primary purposes for which the corporation is formed are: a) To remove Golden Retrievers from non-ideal situations, such as shelters and homes where they are unwanted or where owners can no longer appropriately care for dogs; b) Educate the public on the history and facts pertaining to Golden Retrievers; c) Educate the public on the responsibility of dog ownership; d) To provide resources for Golden Retriever owners and other dog owners regarding proper care and treatment of their dogs; e) Engage in activities to educate the public about Golden Retrievers and various aspects of their ownership; f) Secure funding to prevent the cruelty of Golden Retrievers along with other species of canines. Notwithstanding any other provisions of these Articles, the Corporation shall not carry on any activities not permitted to be carried on by a corporation exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (C) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or the corresponding provisions of any future United States Internal Revenue laws; or by a corporation contributions to which are deductible under Section 170 (C) 2 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue laws. With A Golden Spirit, Inc. (WAGS) is organized for the following purposes: 1. To provide loving homes for Golden Retrievers that are rescued from shelters or pounds, which are strays, unclaimed by owners after published notice, or that are relinquished by their owners to WAGS. Such dogs will be given proper medical attention, updated immunizations, spayed or neutered (except for special circumstances as determined by a Veterinarian); carefully evaluated and relocated into compatible and approved homes where assurances can be made that proper care will be continued. 2. To educate the public about the breed, the need for obedience lessons for all dogs and to advise and/or suggest further referrals where medical or behavioral problems exist. 3. To encourage, assist and provide guidelines to other purebred fanciers to form rescue programs. 4. To encourage responsible care for all dogs through public education.

- 1.Structured Budget Program The objective of this project was to effectively and efficiently manage our financial resources.
- 2.Build a Database on all Rescued Orphans The purpose of the project was to more efficiently record the history on all orphan animals.
- 3.Register with and Follow Through on Continuing Education Provided by the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh for Not for Profit Organizations The objective of this ongoing training is to provide knowledge on resources available to not for profit organizations.
