Mission

The International Essential Tremor Foundation (the Foundation), was incorporated on June 25, 1992, in the state of Illinois as a nonprofit organization. The mission of the Foundation is to provide funding for research on tremor disorders, educational information, services, and support to individuals who have been diagnosed with essential tremor (ET), their families, and health care providers. The Foundation is the only worldwide organization dedicated to meeting the needs of those whose daily lives are challenged by essential tremor.

1.Building Awareness: Awareness requires an emotional ‘call to arms’ to help generate movement. As donor lists have continued to decline over years, it’s easy to assume awareness has dropped.
2.Educating the Masses: Educating our key stakeholders and those who we want and need to encourage to become active stakeholders is an exercise in practical data and information dissemination.
3.Research: Relevant research into the cause, effect and treatment of ET is essential to long-term quality of life concerns of the patient, family and caregiver community.
