Be Colorado’s most-trusted, equitable, free and accessible statewide news outlet. News is a public good, and we seek to build Coloradans’ greater understanding of the state’s people, policies, and places through in-depth, nonpartisan coverage of everything from politics and culture to the outdoor industry and the environment.

Goals

1. 1.Regional News Hubs: The Colorado Sun plans to expand and deepen it's coverage across the state through strategic news hubs. We plan to grow The Sun’s journalism footprint, contributing to and enriching the local news ecosystem through phased, mission-aligned regional hubs. We will make community listening a standard practice across editorial and business operations.
2. 2.Revenue Growth & Diversification: We will put due focus on revenue growth and diversification to further the mission and strengthen the organization. Build a sustainable, diverse funding base that aligns with mission and values.
3. 3.Operational Culture: We will solidify The Sun’s foundation by aligning people, processes, and communications to support high-quality journalism, a healthy staff culture, and long-term sustainability – building a collaborative, accountable newsroom prepared to serve current and future audiences with excellence.
