Art of Recycle
Mission
To develop, heal and grow community through recycled art. We aim to inspire more art and assist artists in developing skills for art creation by using and re-using the available resources around them. Our objective is to teach people how to create "art with purpose" reusing discarded, unwanted, and excess items; creating generations of artists and crafters who are more environmentally conscious.
Vision
AoR’s vision is to create equality and community equity through recycled art, to assist with the integration of people from all backgrounds, ages and abilities, while educating people with hands on skills and environmental responsibilities. Amongst other facets, AoR aspires to educate students who had been given the classification of Specific Learning Disabilities, to assist them in acquiring math, reading/writing skills that they lack due to sidelining, and offering them relief from the stigma associated with their diagnosis. AoR intends to end the lack of educational resources in disadvantaged areas, by acting as a mediator for excess and discarded resources.
Goals
- 1.AoR’s first goal is to increase access to our existing programs through outreach and to continue to grow our volunteer base and our paid staff. Our organization, like many others, is still in the process of recovering from the pandemic losses, but we are quickly moving forward with bringing our organization back to pre-pandemic opportunities. Our donor base and clientele is increasing steadily.
- 2.AoR has always been quick to change gears and focus on new programs as we observe the changing needs within our community. Currently, our staff is working on finding solutions to the needs of homeschool parents and the rising costs of educational supplies for parents in general.
- 3.Art of Recycle has had steady growth and increase in programs since we began our journey. AoR has grown its facility by more than double over the course of the pandemic. Offering bigger classrooms, larger resource center, and a greater focus on volunteerism. Our goal is to continue scaling up our services with more classes and a broader range of jobs for disabled individuals.
