Journey of Hope, Inc. Provides Trauma-Informed, Evidence Based, Gender-Responsive Models of Care, Providing Emergency Services and Direct Services which includes Case Management Services, Certified Peer Support Services, Social Advocacy, & Mentoring For Women, Girls, & LGBTQIIA+ Individuals Who Are Fleeing Current Violence & Harm; Specifically, Domestic Violence, Harm, Abuse, Sexual Abuse, & Human Trafficking, As Well As Those At-Risk For Future Harm or Violence. We Also Assist Individuals Who Are Stuck In The Vicious Cycles of Recidivism, Homelessness, & Generational Poverty. We Assist Our Clients With Basic Needs Like Food, Clothing, & Housing Resources. Providing Case Management Services, Certified Peer Support Services, Friendship, Nurturing, & Mentoring For Women & Girls, As Well As Affected Youth, Disrupts The Pipeline of Being At-Risk For Future Violence & Harm And Stops Cycles of Recidivism, Violence, Trauma, & Harm. Our Mission Is To Break The Cycles of Trauma That Result From Harm, Violence, & Abuse, And Teach the General Public, As Well As Our Community Partners, About Trauma-Informed, Evidence-Based, Gender-Responsive Models of Care, And The Devastating Effects That Trauma Can Have On Our Minds, Bodies, & Lives. After Initially Fleeing Violence, Abuse, & Harm, We Assist Our Clients In Finding A Safe Place To Live, Which Allows Them To Start Working Through & Processing Their Own Trauma To Create New Neural Responses & Build Healthy Habits, As Well As A Solid and Stable Foundation For Themselves & Their Children.

Our first step is always to address the urgent emotional and physical needs of our clients, to help

Goal One: We must focus on our core programs because there are so many women, girls and LGBTQ+ individuals out there in Utah that need our help. Utah is in the top 10 in the nation for domestic violence

Goal Two: With financial assistance we can grow our staff to reach more women and families who need our help and grow our partnerships and resources through education and employment.

Goal Three: Advocacy is part of our mission, to each other partners to share our vision and mission with important individuals in the community. Our voices must be heard, and we're sharing our message.

In 2020, Journey of Hope implemented the worker self-directed nonprofit, where all workers have the power to influence the programs in which they work, the conditions of their workplace, their own career paths, and the direction of the organization as a whole. In addition, the team searches for ways to develop knowledge about leadership skills, through workshops, classes, conferences, non-profit offerings online, etc, as work and time allows, during work hours and outside work. Journey of Hope has also implemented off-site retreats for leadership development, with and without board members, to improve relationships and communication.

There was some discord among two employees, who tried to do some damage to Journey of Hope's reputation, dishonesty about some grants that were supposedly submitted but were not. It was discovered after they resigned. A grant writer was hired and damage was corrected in time.
