Mission

SAIL Central America, Inc, a NC USA corporation (SAIL abbreviates Save And Improve Lives) restores vision to the people of Quito Ecuador through cataract surgeries at a cost of $200 per surgery. Quito is the highest capital city in the world; the 9,000' elevation causes extensive cataracts in people of all agers. As of 8/12/2026 520 surgeries have occurred with a goal of 150 surgeries per year. The doctors are all Ecuadorian and the surgeries occur in Quito at the hospital owned by the local partner is Vista Para Todos (VPT). VPT identifies and channels patients through their optical stores throughout the Country.
