Mission

Service Dogs of Virginia raises, trains, and places dogs to assist people with disabilities, and provides facility dogs for courthouses, counseling centers, schools, and other therapeutic settings to help foster greater independence.

Goals

1.We will build facilities to provide the needed home base for our dogs, our trainers, and our clients. Activities will include developing site plans, completing capital campaign planning, completing the campaign and completing construction. Complete development of a permanent, purpose-built campus that enables program growth, staff effectiveness, canine welfare, and client experience.
2.Ensure sustainable, diversified funding growth aligned with SDV’s expanding facilities, programs, and staffing needs.
3.Ensure leadership continuity, operational maturity, and organizational resilience during a period of growth.
