THE ORGANIZATION PRESERVES THE DEEP RIVER AREA OF NC AND THE HISTORY OF THE SOUTHERN TEXTILE INDUSTRY, TOGETHER WITH ITS INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY AND ARTIFACTS, AS WELL AS PRESERVING HISTORIC BUILDINGS AND OPEN SPACES FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION AND RECREATION.
