Eliminating all wild dog packs in Fentress County and giving every abandoned or neglected animal a safe, loving, and forever home.

Goals

1. 1.Our spay/neuter program is called Fix Fentress. 98.8% citizens of Fentress County qualify as “low income” so some financial assistance is required for most spay/neuter. So, we are continually getting grants for free spay and neuter vouchers to keep available for low-income families and doing advertisements in our local paper.
2. 2.We have an active transport program that transports approximately 25 dogs/puppies to OH about two times a month or to another shelter after being fully vetted, vaccinated, with any medical issues needing attention addressed. The average cost for one dog to be ready for transport (not counting shelter costs) with a written health certificate by the attending vet is $150.00.
3. 3.Best Friends Sanctuary Inc. relies on grants, fundraisers, and donations to assist us in keeping our doors open. So, we have begun yearly canvassing local businesses for donations, doing more fundraisers throughout the year. One new fundraiser is a monthly bingo at our local winery for Best Friends.
