The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
In 2022, Samaritan Center accomplished the following:
• Increased access to evidence-based and affordable mental health services at our Austin office and by opening new offices in Dripping Springs, Wimberley, San Marcos, Georgetown, and Blanco.
• Continued teletherapy to address driving time, child care, and mobility challenges, as well as concerns around the pandemic.
• 88% of our clients reported improvement after receiving our services.
• Hired a new therapist trained in pastoral counseling and he is a former chaplain.
• Hired a licensed art therapist for the first time, and she also specializes in neurodivergent challenges such as autism.
• Added two bilingual, Spanish-speaking therapists.
• Hired a new therapist to serve more Hays County residents.
• In partnership with Texas State University, we have a counselor on campus to support their large veteran population.
• Expanded Hope for Heroes by increasing counseling and wellness services to more veterans and their families with a Texas Veterans + Family Alliance grant.
• Served more children to help address the growing youth mental health crisis.
• Addressed increased demand and an ongoing waitlist, by now offering Quick Access Sessions, which are one-time, solutions-focused appointments, and Family Needs Assessments, that allow parents to meet with a therapist to get resources and improve parenting skills while their child is on our waitlist.
• Enhanced integrative medicine by hiring a massage therapist to address physical symptoms that accompany anxiety, depression and PTSD.
