Childrens Association for Maximum Potential Inc.
Mission
Since 1979, CAMP has been providing recreational programming for children and adults with developmental, intellectual, medical, behavioral, and physical disabilities. We believe that “CAMP is for the camper” and our goal is to help every camper reach their maximum potential. Our low camper to counselor ratio and volunteer medical staff are key to providing a safe and fun-filled experience. To our knowledge, no other camping program has taken these radical steps to meet the daily physical, medical, emotional, and social needs of this population. CAMP not only offers fun and safe enrichment activities for individuals with disabilities, but for their siblings as well, providing parents respite from caregiving responsibilities.
Vision
The cornerstone of CAMP's mission is to offer year-round, recreational, respite, and educational programming for children and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities. For 45 years, CAMP has embodied the founding vision that any person with a disability, especially a child, should be afforded the same opportunities to participate in social and recreational activities as an individual without a disability. We believe that CAMP should be a place where everyone is given the opportunity to succeed in a supportive environment.
Goals
- 1.CAMP is committed to expanding access to our year-round programs for individuals with disabilities and their families. This includes increasing the number of participants across all summer camp sessions and school-year programs. By improving volunteer recruitment and expanding program capacity, we aim to reduce waitlists and allow more families to benefit from our vital services.
- 2.CAMP focuses on strengthening its core programs to better achieve our mission of supporting individuals with disabilities and their families. By concentrating resources on essential services, we enhance program quality, sustainability, and overall impact. This strategic focus ensures we deliver meaningful, consistent support where it matters most.
- 3.CAMP continually invests in organizational capacity by enhancing staff training, improving program-centered facilities and equipment, and diversifying funding sources. These efforts strengthen our infrastructure, ensuring efficient program delivery and sustainability. This strategic focus ensures resilience and increases our ability to meet the evolving needs of our campers and their families.
