US Horse Welfare and Rescue Inc.
Mission
To promote the safety and well-being of America’s equines through rescue efforts, advocacy, education, outreach, and supportive programs—while fostering a compassionate society that recognizes the powerful connection between humans and horses through meaningful equine-assisted programs in our community. At US Horse Welfare & Rescue, we restore our horses—and empower them to help restore people—through thoughtful equine-assisted learning, therapeutic activities, and wellness programs that nurture healing on both ends of the lead rope.
Vision
We envision a future where every horse in America is protected from abuse, exploitation, and slaughter; where horse owners and the public are fully informed about the risks of their beloved horse going to auction and into the slaughter pipeline; and where awareness, accountability, and compassion ensure that no horse is ever knowingly or unknowingly sent to suffer. Through education, advocacy, and action, USHWR works locally and nationally to end the sale and transport of America’s horses to slaughter and to honor their intelligence, loyalty, and right to a safe, dignified life.
