Mission

CARE STL exists to create a supportive community rooted in collaboration, compassion, and caring for people and animals. We are dedicated to educating the public about responsible pet guardianship and advocating for reforms in animal control policies. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and place unwanted pets from the City of St. Louis into loving, suitable homes. We manage and operate the St. Louis City Animal Shelter, working tirelessly to promote the welfare of the animals in our care, reunite lost pets with their owners, and enhance public safety by addressing issues related to irresponsible pet ownership and dangerous animals. Our unwavering focus is on saving and improving the lives of the animals in St. Louis City.

1.Increase and diversify revenue to achieve a $1.6m operating budget and $300,000 reserve within 3 years for CARE STL. Fundraising Revenue 2023: $464,800 Fundraising Revenue 2024: $520,576
2.• Initiate the most impactful programs within the current organizational capacity and effectively engage CARE STL clients and the St. Louis community in existing programs.
3.Implement prioritized expansion programs - Low-cost Veterinary Clinic
