Mission
Wildlife conservation through public educational outreach, propagation of rare & endangered species, and habitat restoration efforts. The North Florida Wildlife Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives for the highest standards of animal care, education, conservation, environmental service, and operations. The Wildlife Center is active in education initiatives, breeding programs, and ecosystem recovery around the world, as well as in its own community. The Wildlife Center has been a top attraction in North Florida since its opening in 2019.
Vision
We envision a world where people and the natural world exist in harmony - where both thrive through mutual respect, understanding, and stewardship. At the Wildlife Center, we work toward this vision by creating immersive, educational, and inspiring experiences that foster meaningful connections between people, wildlife, and the environment. Through these experiences, we aim to inspire conservation-minded thinking and encourage both direct and indirect actions that positively impact wildlife and ecosystems in everyday life.
Goals
- 1.Expand and enhance the Wildlife Center’s programs, animal habitats, educational experiences, and conservation initiatives to increase public engagement, strengthen animal welfare and conservation impact, and provide greater opportunities for meaningful connections between people, wildlife, and the natural world.
- 2.Develop new programs and experiences that respond to growing public interest in conservation, wildlife education, and meaningful nature-based experiences, while expanding opportunities for community involvement, youth engagement, conservation partnerships, and public access to wildlife and environmental learning.
- 3.Strengthen the Wildlife Center’s long-term sustainability and impact by investing in organizational infrastructure, staff development, operational systems, conservation partnerships, and financial growth to support continued expansion, high standards of animal care, and meaningful public engagement.
