Mission

YouthWorks is a nonprofit organization founded in 2001 to provide relevant and meaningful work-based learning, education and training opportunities for Opportunity Youth (defined as young people ages 14-24 who are disconnected from traditional education and employment pathways). Our mission is rooted in creating an economic development continuum that bridges these young individuals to vital, labor-market indicated employment opportunities within our community, while simultaneously positioning them for further career advancement through certificate programs or college enrollment. We strive to impart essential soft skills, facilitate credential attainment, and foster the career readiness necessary for long-term success and stability.

Vision

YouthWorks has and will continue to serve the thousands of youth as an impactful catalyst for individual transformation since its grassroots beginning in northern New Mexico. YouthWorks leverages positive results for youth seeking personal, educational and career achievement through innovative, engaging work-based learning, social justice initiatives, community-benefitting projects and collaboration as well as youth-driven social enterprises. We at YouthWorks envision a future in northern New Mexico where all youth feel the support for and possibility of building a future rooted in place, where all youth have the stability, care, and tools to truly thrive.

Goals

1.YouthWorks aims to continue to expand existing infrastructure, as well as training staff, to engage and support more youth in achieving their educational, job training, and career development goals.
2.YouthWorks strives to continue to invest in the capacity of our organization by investing in professional development and leadership programs, supporting staff to grow within YouthWorks.
3.YouthWorks aims to support the strengthening and long-term sustainability of core programs and adapt as needed to that assist youth and their families to realize their full potential.
