Health, dignity, safety, autonomy, and respect for all people, especially those who engage in currently stigmatized and/or criminalized activities and behaviors.

Goals

1. 1.BHRC prides itself on offering high-quality services on the leading edge of harm reduction. We aim to continually use feedback from participants to shape what our distribution and services look like, with the goal of providing the things that matter most to our participants in the ways most accessible to them.
2. 2.BHRC aims to strengthen and expand the reach of our mobilization and advocacy efforts to end overdose and criminalization of people who use drugs and trade sex. By advocating for our legislatures to legally sanction Overdose Prevention Centers and address other policies that harm people who use drugs and/or trade sex, we can begin to alleviate some of the decades of harm inflicted on communities.
3. 3.As an organization composed mainly of people with lived experience - many of whom are queer, Black, &/or POC - we are aware that BHRC is a part of our communities, not separate from them. We aim to support our staff as whole humans, with regular compensation audits to ensure we provide a living wage, 2 wellness weeks a year & generous PTO, benefits for any staff working 20+ hours a week, and more.
