Vision

Borderlands Produce Rescue envisions communities where no good food is wasted and all people have consistent access to fresh, nutritious produce. Through strong partnerships and community-based distribution, we work toward a future where food systems support both human well-being and environmental responsibility.

Goals

1. 1.Continue to increase the amount of poundage of rescued produce which is fit for consumption redistributed to individuals across the state of Arizona through our Produce on Wheels WithOut Waste, Veggies R Us, Produce Travels, and Agency programs.
2. 2.Continue to increase the amount of poundage of perished produce which we redistribute to composting and rancher partners through our Potpourri for Animals and Composting program. Perished produce is one dimension of food waste which is largely ignored so we pride ourselves on tackling this issue head on, and we would like to keep expanding our programming related to it.
3. 3.This past year we have received a lot of feedback from the individuals in communities we serve across the state of Arizona that they rely on our programming more and more as their only source of fresh produce. As such, when there are disruptions in food programs they turn to us for emergency produce distributions in new areas, we would like to expand these emergency distributions.
