Montgomery County Overdose Prevention Endeavor

Mission

Our mission at M-COPE is to work with individuals, communities, and organizations to speak about substance use disorder and the growing number of overdose and drug related deaths in Montgomery County. We focus on education, awareness, prevention, and remembrance and in doing so, we are bringing attention to our growing drug problem as well as helping to end the stigma by advocating for those that currently need help or support, and for those that no longer have a voice.

Our vision is to unite our community and beyond to save lives and reduce stigma related to substance use disorder, and to see a community where overdose is a treatable and preventable condition.

Goals

1.Focused on developing relationships with more school districts and colleges to get our programs & walkway in front of target audience of those abusing substances due to a lack of knowledge on danger.
2.Volunteer communication/tracking software; New website including more automated request forms for our programs ; new person on Board with needed experience; more speakers in portal representing us
3.Our annual event is changing speaker formats with two panels to better address identified needs in our community: Navigating Substance Use Resources Strategies for Building Safer Communities
