Community Building
The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation seeks local event coordinators in communities across America that we partner with to plan and execute C.A.S.T. for Kids events. In 2022 we will hold 80 events in 33 states. Our strategic partnerships include the California Dept. of Water Resources and the TVA as well as various non-profits including takemefishing.org. Our private sector partnerships are key to our success. We present the C.A.S.T. for Kids B.A.S.S. Humanitarian Award at the Bassmaster Classic each spring. Our Strategic Marketing Plan includes multiple platforms to increase brand awareness, mission, cause, fundraising and new events through various channels. Every C.A.S.T. for Kids event is community building. The local event coordinator organizes community volunteers to attend, and they spend a day fishing with the children, encouraging them, and showing them that they are loved and valued by their community.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
The biggest change in the last year was Covid. Our fundraisers pivoted from in-person to virtual. In the months where no groups could meet, we created a YouTube show to engage with our participants. We continued to keep our mission of enriching the lives of children with special needs through the sport of fishing in front of our supporters, and we were prepared to host events as soon as communities were ready. Our events continued to take place in certain states with protective measures like social distancing, masks, etc.
