Friends of the Rising Phoenix

Mission

The mission of Friends of the Rising Phoenix is to make the Sea Scout program accessible to all youth (ages 14-21) to whom Scouting is economically challenging regardless of religious, or ethnic backgrounds by supporting both financially and practically the scouts and programs of Sea Scout Ship 1908.

1.Our primary focus is to allow youth from financially challenged backgrounds to access the leadership skills of the Sea Scouting program. To accomplish this we provide scholarships to offset the cost.
2.We advocate for creating a stable environment for youth that might be found in tenuous situations. As well as teaching them leadership and boating skills to open new opportunities for them.
3.We wish to further our ability to market to communities that would benefit from our services. We plan on a geotagged marketing campaign through an enhanced social media presence.
