Jewish Learningworks
Mission
Our mission is to elevate the field of Jewish education by nurturing educators, inspiring innovation, and building Jewish literacy. You can learn more about our 125-year trajectory at https://jewishlearning.works/impact/impact25/ and view our latest strategic plan at jewishlearning.works/strategic-plan/2022-strategic-plan.
Vision
We are lifelong learners who delight in discovery, and strive to spark imaginative inquiry among those we serve. We also recognize every Jewish educator and learner as a whole, creative and resourceful person worthy of finding joy and meaning in Jewish life. As such, we aim to: - Foster the power of belonging by equipping Jewish educators not only with the tools and practices they need to thrive alongside their learners, but also with a sense of community. - Encourage continuous improvement, experimentation, and growth to expand the intellectual horizons of educators in the Bay Area and beyond. We work in partnership with educational leaders, to bring their best selves to the experience of vibrant Jewish learning, and pursue a more just and perfect world.
Goals
- 1.Strengthen the talent pipeline: Support the recruitment, training and retention of Jewish educators working in a diverse array of organizations including schools, camps, community centers and youth groups. Our primary strategies include coaching, mentoring, and cohort based learning.
- 2.Advance diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the Bay Area Jewish community: Celebrate the diversity of our community by training educators to become more culturally competent, providing support services for neurodivergent learners and fostering strong collegial relationships among educators. We also advance gender equity through our flagship fellowship for emerging women leaders.
- 3.Expand coaching, mentoring and fellowships: Leverage our areas of greatest strength by increasing the number of coaching and mentoring engagements we complete, as well as creating new fellowship opportunities alongside our existing women’s leadership cohort.
