Vision

Our vision is that youth of every background and ability have the creative skills, compassion, confidence and resilience to share their voices and achieve their goals.

Goals

1. 1.In the past 6 years Youth in Arts has significantly expanded our Artist in Schools program, reaching nearly 5,000 students of all backgrounds annually, with innovative and culturally responsive, visual and performing arts in school arts residency programs. We expanded the scope of the programs to reach students for a minimum of 12 weeks, but are working with most an average of 24 weeks per year.
2. 2.In 2020 in response to community need, Youth in Arts created the I AM (Intensive Arts Mentorship) paid, visual arts mentorship program through which we recruit teens from Marin's most marginalized areas, to conceptualize and install public artwork throughout the County. Offering compensation creates early onramps to creative careers for students from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
3. 3.Youth in Arts formed the Arts Now Marin Coalition with community partners from the Marin Cultural Association and the Marin County Office of Education to assess and reevaluate the arts landscape in Marin. We are currently developing a County-wise replicable arts education plan to ensure that all students in Marin have equitable access to quality arts programs in their school day.
